On Saturday, April 23, at the anti-bullfighting rally in front of the bullring, some young representatives of the Student Union spoke in favor of animals.
They taught a lesson to those of us dedicated to education, because while respect for animals is not usually considered a core value among teachers, the students showed that it is a topic that must be addressed in the classroom. They taught the Ministry of Education a lesson by demanding the elimination of vocational training in bullfighting, since the union believes that a profession based on torture and death should not be promoted by public institutions. But above all, they taught society a lesson by arguing that activities that involve the suffering of others are not a matter of personal preference, even if the one who suffers and dies is not of our species.
