For the second year in a row, we have already started the course "Education from respect for animals", aimed at teachers and educators as well as mothers, fathers and other people related to the educational field.
Tras presentar el proyecto Animal Class,en un primer lugar se realizó una introducción justificativa del curso: ¿Por qué trabajar el respeto a los animales en las aulas? ¿Qué presencia tiene este contenido trasversal en el marco educativo actual? ¿Cómo suele enfocarse o tratarse? Estas fueron algunas cuestiones que se plantearon en la primera parte.
Then, and taking the title of the course as a basis, the view of animals offered in textbooks from a very early age was discussed from a critical point of view, as well as the contradictions that this view leads to, instilling in children a perception of animals far removed from reality.
Alternative models for studying animals and understanding their characteristics and interests through the promotion of empathy were also presented, thus conveying a message of respect for the animal world from a very young age. The class concluded with classroom experiences carried out by various members of the group, demonstrating that showing the reality of animals' suffering through positive education is possible and contributes to improving coexistence between humans and other animals, and among humans themselves.
With a total duration of 20 hours and approved by the DGA, nearly thirty people attended the first session of the course, which, like the previous year, has brought together very diverse people in terms of fields and interests.
