Compartimos el artículo de opinión que nos publicaron el pasado lunes en Heraldo, en relación con la inclusión de medidas favorables para los animales en los programas políticos de diversas formaciones políticas.
Change also for animals
In these recent elections, we have seen how an increasing number of political parties are including measures to improve the situation of animals. We have seen this in their platforms, not only in Zaragoza and Aragon, but also in most regions, with Madrid and Palma de Mallorca among other examples.
The fact that these programs include measures to prevent animal suffering shows that something is changing in society. More and more people are raising their voices to protect animals and taking a stand against certain cruel acts. We've seen it in the streets, in protests, and in awareness campaigns, and this sentiment is also reflected in these political proposals.
It's not about prioritizing, but about extending respect and solidarity to the animals in our environment, striving for a more ethical and just society that puts an end to animal suffering. Many of the measures, as outlined in these programs, don't involve significant financial expenditure, but rather small regulatory changes favoring forms of entertainment without animals or replacing public funding for shows that use animals with funds allocated to addressing social emergencies.
Let us hope that the new faces in politics will be able to adapt to the changing times and make our environment a more animal-friendly place.
