The kindergarten students of CEIP Juan XXIII gave a fantastic performance of the story of Trompeta the elephant, whom Espagueti the clown helps escape from the circus where he was mistreated. After several adventures, the director promised never to have animals in his circus again and would inform the mayor so that she would ban circuses with animals in our town. The presentation of graduation certificates to the sixth-grade students and the various musical numbers added color to this end-of-year celebration.
Such was the interest generated by the performance of the story of Trumpet and Spaghetti that even a representative from Infocircos, an organization that works to educate the public about the problems of wild animals in circuses, traveled from Madrid to attend. Marta Merchán was amazed by the extraordinary performance of the children, who delighted everyone present, and stated that "if all schools did this, Infocircos wouldn't be necessary." What was clear, however, is that the children of Juan XXIII do not like seeing animals in circuses.
