Zaragoza, April 11, 2014. Esta semana Animal Class ha participado en varias charlas en el CEIP Montecanal, en Zaragoza, dentro de las actividades que el centro educativo había organizado con motivo de su semana cultural, dedicada a “La Tierra”. Por eso, dado que el ser humano no es el único habitante de esta Tierra y que la comparte con millones y millones de otros animales, acercamos el mensaje de respeto a las aulas.
In total, 150 boys and girls participated, divided into several talks, from 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education, in a participatory and sharing environment where the aim was to highlight the capacity of each of us to avoid the suffering of others and to carry out practices that help animals.
Throughout the sessions, we observed different images of animals and shared how and what they were feeling, which led us to the conclusion that we are all equal in our ability to experience sensations and appreciate the good things in life.
The discussion also touched on some forms of animal abuse, emphasizing our individual capacity to make our own choices and decide whether we want to participate in them. The children were encouraged to engage in ways that can help animals (such as providing birdhouses, assisting stray animals, fostering, and adopting), making them understand that even if it's just one in a million, it will mean a lifetime to that individual.
