Los pliegos de contratación que se están cerrando sobre los comedores escolares en los centros educativos de Aragón vuelven a dejar fuera la opción vegana. Así nos lo han confirmado desde el Servicio Provincial de Educación de Zaragoza en varios encuentros que hemos mantenido desde Animal Class con diversas responsables de la Administración en los últimos días.
The excuse we have received is that the conditions set out in said document only contemplate "medical and health reasons", so they cannot force catering companies and school cafeterias to offer the option without ingredients of animal origin to those families who request it.
At a time when the vegan option is already offered in the Community's public hospitals and increasingly in private and charter schools, we feel that the educational administration of the PSOE-CHA Government sees it as "a whim", arguing that they are "very personal choices" and "the cafeteria is just a complementary service".
It is true that on this occasion the food option for religious reasons will not appear in said document, but the reality is that since it was mandatory in previous contracts, the caterers already offer it, unlike the case of the vegan option, where an option for ethical reasons continues to be ignored.
Lamentamos que se haya perdido esta ocasión, más aun cuando entendemos que es una gran incoherencia política el hecho de que hace unos años la propia CHA y su hoy socio de Gobierno el PSOE votaran a favor precisamente de esta iniciativa, tal y como aparece en este link.
Desde Animal Class animamos a todas las familias que deseen esta opción en el comedor escolar a que lo soliciten por escrito, vía registro de la Administración, tanto a la directora provincial de Zaragoza como a la secretaria provincial.
