Zaragoza, February 22, 2014.Óscar Horta fue el encargado de impartir la sesión de ayer en el seminario “El respeto a los animales en nuestra sociedad”. Doctor en Filosofía Moral, trabaja como profesor en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.
Throughout his talk, "Ethics Beyond Species," Óscar Horta presented the various positions society uses to justify the exploitation of animals in different contexts. He refuted them forcefully, with compelling rational arguments that clearly demonstrate the immense suffering animals endure in our society.
In her presentation, which was attended by around seventy people, Horta also reviewed the different forms of animal exploitation, highlighting the weakness of the ideas that support them and emphasizing our individual capacity to stop participating in such suffering.
